Error Fix Installation: We fired up the installation wizard for Error Fix, after a quick and speedy download, and went straight through it, only stopping to change the directory. Installing this product on your system is just as easy as it is for most others.
Features: The program offers a good selection of features to keep your system optimized - apart from the default registry scanning and error fixing, of course. It can do a complete backup of your system, allowing you to save all of your current settings to use them later, restoring your system to a previous state. If you don't want to backup your entire system, you can just create a copy of your registry, to restore it later.
A feature that is not present in many other programs of that kind - a disk defragmenter - is also present, and we welcomed its availability. It was well optimized and performed better than the standard Windows one.
Interface: The interface is sleek and doesn't give any trouble to the user. It's nice visually, though some users may feel confused at the sight of so many options, some of which are described rather vaguely and obscurely. There are a few options which are not explained very clearly, and users may find themselves feeling lost in some of the more complex menus.
It has a direct shortcut to Microsoft Windows updates, which is a nice feature, but doesn't present anything new from the program itself - it's just a link to Windows's built-in update feature.

Ease of use: It can be difficult to make out the ideas behind some of the features present in this program at times, though it's generally not difficult to use. We wouldn't recommend it to novice users though, as it can seem very complicated in some of its menus and options.
Safety: Scanning our system, we felt a bit displeased at the quality of the program, as it only managed to find 304 errors - a small number, when you compare it to some of the other products on the market. The scanner gives you the option to manually choose which problems to repair, and how, and it can also perform the task itself on all of them.
Error Fix can perform some very good maintenance procedures, like removing malicious toolbars and plugins from your browsers, including Internet Explorer, and if your browser is too seriously affected by those plugins, the program can restore it to a factory default state, as if you had just reinstalled Windows.
The program can also protect you from harmful Active-X controls, and also scan your system for such controls and block them, or remove them completely.
Helpdesk/support: The documentation is nice and readable, though it could use a bit more expansion on some subjects, which are very poorly explained in the program itself. The program, like all others, offers online support, which we found on par with the standards - polite and friendly, ready to assist you.
Conclusion: We think that this program has potential, but it still leaves some things to be desired. If you can cope with the obscure navigation systems it provides, you'll probably be pleased with its overall performance.
